HODEIDAH April 18, 2024 (Saba) - The market control committees affiliated with the Office of Industry and Trade in Hodeidah Governorate detected 79 catering violations in the center and directorates of the governorate during the blessed Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Director of the Industry Office in the governorate, Saleh Muhammad, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the violations seized were divided into 63 violations of raising prices, most of which were meat prices, five violations of not announcing the price list, four violations of finished goods, and seven violations of underweight of bread.
He reported that during the period from Ramadan 29 - Shawwal 6, the oversight committees detected 65 violations in the districts of Hodeidah City (Al-Mina, Al-Hawk, and Al-Hali), and 14 violations in the districts of Bajil, Bayt Al-Faqih, Al-Qanawis, Al-Mansouriya, Al-Durayhimi, Al-Marawa’a, Zabid, Al-Tuhayta, and Al-Sukhnah.
He stressed that measures had been taken regarding all violations, praising the cooperation of the ministry’s leadership and the local authority in the governorate in making the market control campaign successful during Ramadan month and the Eid holiday.
The Director of the Industry Office stated that 292 commercial establishments were targeted, including food stores, meat slaughterhouses, restaurants, buffets, bakeries, and ice sales during the Eid holiday campaign.
