MOSCOW April 20. 2024 (Saba) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced today, Saturday, that the Ministry of Defense has decided to establish a research and production center for drones and automated systems.
Sputnik quoted the Russian Defense Agency as saying in a statement, “Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected the military training field on the outskirts of Moscow, where he was briefed on the implementation of command instructions to develop unmanned aerial vehicles and small arms, taking into account the experience of the special military operation.”
The statement added, "Shoigu was presented with a variety of unmanned aerial vehicles, with a payload ranging from 10 to 200 kilograms, including a promising quadcopter attack aircraft equipped with the latest technology to use different types of ammunition depending on the tasks assigned to it and adapted to operate even in low visibility conditions." .
For his part, Shoigu said, “The Russian Ministry of Defense decided to establish a research and production center for drones and automated systems,” noting that “the center that will be established will serve as an association for various institutions and laboratories involved in the development and production of advanced weapons.”
“Assault groups must be equipped with these types of weapons in order to effectively destroy enemy drones,” Shoigu stressed.
