HODEIDA May 02. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting in Hodeida Governorate, chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the Internal Trade Sector, Mohammed Qatran, discussed on Thursday the progress of implementing the national strategy to localize the local mango industry in juice production factories in Hodeida.
In the meeting, which was attended by the directors of the Industry Office Saleh Mohammed and the Chamber of Commerce Mohammed Al-Hatami and representatives of juice factories and companies, Undersecretary Qatran praised the fruitful cooperation between the ministry and the juice industry companies in starting the implementation of the strategy and the use of locally produced natural mangoes in the inputs of the juice industries.
He stressed the ministry's readiness to work to overcome difficulties and solve problems facing national industries and support local production by all available means and capabilities.
He stressed the importance of starting the transformation of the juice industry using locally produced mangoes according to the approved schedule agreed upon by the ministry and juice factories.
Undersecretary Qatran pointed out that the ministry is open to discussing all the observations of juice producers and manufacturers in a way that contributes to enhancing local production in quantity, quality, quality and high specifications.
He pointed out that the battle today is represented in agriculture and industry to obtain food security, which requires cooperation and support by all.
The director of the Industry Office in the governorate pointed to the nutritional value of the local product and the prevention of risks and health damages that may be caused by raw materials imported from abroad.
He stressed the importance of integrating efforts and moving towards supporting the local product of various agricultural crops and benefiting from them in the national food industries in order to achieve a reduction in the import bill.
