SANA'A May 04. 2024 (Saba) - The sixth workshop on legal empowerment to provide legal services to vulnerable groups began in Sanaa today, organized by the Yemeni Women’s Union in coordination with the Ministries of Justice and Interior, and with the participation of relevant authorities, with funding from the United Nations Development Programme.
The five-day workshop aims to enhance the legal awareness of 25 legal service providers in the Ministries of Justice, Interior, and Human Rights, the Attorney General’s Office, the Judicial Inspection Authority, and Bar Association.
At the opening, the Chief Specialist for International Cooperation and Human Rights at the Ministry of Justice, Adnan Al-Salhi, and the project coordinator, Souad Al-Hazoura, explained the importance of the workshop, which comes within the project to enhance comprehensive access to justice, to enhance concerted efforts among relevant authorities to confront the difficulties facing the legal empowerment of vulnerable groups such as women, children, and people with special needs.
The opening was attended by the Chief Relations and Media Specialist at the Ministry of Justice, Ibrahim Zayed.
