DAMASCUS May 05. 2024 (Saba) - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed that Palestine and Yemen have turned into a global power because the thought of employment did not spread among them and the doctrine of defeat did not flourish among them.
President al-Assad said in a speech during an expanded meeting of the Central Committee of the Arab Socialist Baath Party last night, according to the Syrian news agency "SANA": The Palestinian and Yemeni provided lessons in pride, dignity, magnanimity, will and patriotism.
He pointed out that the lessons of Palestine and Yemen have turned them not into a regional power but into a real global power that has imposed itself economically, militarily and politically.
He added that the most important lessons offered by Gaza are the Palestinian and Yemeni lessons.
The Syrian president continued: "The Palestinians and Yemenis have provided lessons to the Arabs in general and to the Syrians in particular because the principles of war are similar between the three countries.
Last night's Baath Party meeting unanimously elected Syrian President Bashar al-Assad as secretary-general during the expanded party meeting as part of what Syrian President Assad called the democratic process.
Assad attended the party's expanded meeting at the Conference Palace on the Damascus International Road, east of the capital Damascus, to participate in the "democratic process" to elect members of a central committee and a new central leadership of the party.
The "Qatari leadership" of the party said that the expanded meeting of the party unanimously elected Assad as secretary-general of the party, while Khalil Mashhadia was elected chairman of the meeting, and Maher Karman and Afra Salloum as rapporteurs.
The results of the elections for the central leadership, which are conducted electronically, are scheduled to appear in the coming hours.
