BERLIN May 06. 2024 (Saba) - Germany on Monday warned the Zionist enemy forces of invading the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, at a time when the enemy launched an evacuation operation in the city, which it insists on launching a ground attack on it.
According to the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa), German Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Catherine Deschauer confirmed during a press conference in Berlin: "The German government warns against an invasion of Rafah and emphasizes the "need to prevent a humanitarian tragedy" there.
Deschauer added that the German government and Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbockhad previously warned of a potential "humanitarian tragedy" as a result of a large-scale ground operation in Rafah.
There are more than one million people "in need of protection and humanitarian support" in Rafah.
Rafah is the last refuge for displaced people in the stricken Gaza Strip. Since the beginning of the ground operation launched by the enemy forces on October 27, citizens have been asked to go from the north and center of the Gaza Strip to the south, claiming that they are "safe areas.
