TAIZ May 06. 2024 (Saba) - The Public Health and Population Office in Taiz province distributed medicines to 21 health facilities in the presence of UNICEF.
The distribution within the Human Capital Project targets the districts of Al-Ta'iziyah, Mawiyah, Shara'b Al-Runa, Shara'b Al-Salam, Haifan, Jabal Habashi, Al-Salu, Sam'a, Al-Mawasit, and Khadir, as well as furniture and medical equipment for Al-Nour Center and Nafnaf Health Unit in Maqbana District, with the support of the Tamdeen Youth Foundation.
The director of the Public Health and Population Office in the province, Dr. Abdul-Malik Al-Mutawakkil, confirmed that the distribution of medicines reflects the directions of the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council, the Ministry of Health and the local authority in Taiz in supporting health facilities in the countryside, isolating the districts, and confronting the challenges in light of the continued aggression and siege.
He pointed out that paying attention to health services, especially in the countryside, and striving to strengthen health services at the regional level and making services accessible to all citizens, is within the framework of the priorities of the Ministry of Health and the local authority.
Dr. Al-Mutawakkil explained that the medicines will contribute to improving the level of health services and alleviating the suffering of patients who are unable to afford the value of the medicine.
He pointed out that the office's plan includes supporting the needs of health facilities with medical furniture and equipment and improving the quality of health and medical services provided to citizens in Maqbana District, praising the efforts of the local authority leadership and its support for the health sector in the province.
