ANAA, March 18 (Saba) - Member of the Supreme Political Council, Sultan al-Samai, discussed on Monday in Sanaa with members of the Dutch and Spanish Doctors Without Borders missions the role played by the organization in supporting the health sector in the targeted provinces.
The meeting touched upon aspects of the expansion of MSF activities in the provinces of Hodeidah and Taiz.
The meeting also discussed the strengthening of the intervention by Organization through the installation of a central medical point in the area of Alhuban Taiz and provide them with equipment, medicines and staff.
The member of the Supreme Political Council praised the positive role played by MSF and the continuous support to the health sector in Yemen, which witnessed a significant deterioration due to continued US-saudi coalition aggression and their siege imposed on Yemen.
He stressed the readiness of the Supreme Political Council to provide the necessary facilities to ensure the success of activities of the Organization and enable it to deliver the humanitarian services to the target.
He called on the organization to reconsider as much as possible the size of services provided by the organization in this extraordinary circumstance that Yemen is going through in order to benefit a larger number of citizens, especially in hospitals that suffer from a lack of potential.
He pointed out that the siege and aggression has had a significant impact on the worsening health conditions in all provinces, which requires intervention by international medical organizations, headed by Doctors Without Borders to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
The delegation pointed out that it will study the proposals submitted by the Supreme Political Council and will work to find solutions in this regard, especially in areas where security prevails.
