Business Insider says Americans are losing confidence in their military, government institutions
[18/ April/2024]
WASHINGTON April 18. 2024 (Saba) - The American Business Insider website has revealed that the United States of America has begun to lose its strong position among the most advanced countries in the world.

The website quoted the American "Gallup" organization, data published showing that for the first time, in nearly two decades of polls, states fell behind many of the Group of Seven (G7) countries in indicators such as people's ability to meet basic needs and confidence in the government and the army.

The Gallup report indicated that the United States remains the dominant voice of the G7 in the global arena, but the reality of public opinion at home “has begun to speak to a different issue, as the United States no longer emerges as a leader in trust in institutions that are fundamental to its democracy.”

In addition, the Gallup poll revealed that only a third of Americans, in 2023, believe that their country spends the appropriate amount on defense, as 35 percent believe that the United States “spends too much,” and 29 percent believe that the total budget of the Department Defense in 2023 “was not enough.”

The survey pointed to a sharp decline in confidence in the American judicial system, as the percentage of participants who said they were confident decreased to 42 percent in 2023, making it the country with the lowest judicial confidence and slightly lower than Italy.

Gallup reported that public confidence in the American government fell to 30 percent, after the turbulent year 2023 in the House of Representatives, which immediately began with a power struggle, which later led to the ouster of former Representative, Kevin McCarthy, from the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.
