Local authority in Lahj deliver equipment to implement service projects and support community initiatives

LAHJ April 18, 2024 (Saba) - The Governor of Lahj, Ahmed Juraib, today inaugurated the handover of a number of machinery and equipment for implementing service and development projects in Al-Qubaita District.

The equipment included bags and buckets worth 99 million and 260 thousand riyals, funded by the local authority in the governorate, in addition to ten thousand bags of cement worth thirty million riyals, funded by the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Finance, as part of efforts aimed at strengthening and developing service projects and encouraging and supporting Community initiatives.

Governor Juraib stressed the importance of supporting and encouraging these initiatives and projects to make community initiatives successful, enhance efforts to complete development and service projects, and motivate society to adopt more initiatives, especially in light of the challenges facing the nation as a result of the siege.

He explained that the delivery of this equipment comes as a translation of the directives of the Revolutionary Leadership and the Supreme Political Council to support community initiatives, as well as the interest and keenness of the local authority to maintain the development of infrastructure, provide services to citizens, and meet their needs.

Governor Juraib pointed out the role relied on by society in adopting projects that it aspires to and supporting the state’s efforts to meet the needs for services. He indicated that the Qubaita Directorate implemented community initiatives in a number of sectors with the cooperation and solidarity of the community members.

The handover was attended by a number of local authority members and general directors of executive offices.
