Emergency Committee in Al-Bayda discusses necessary measures to confront any flood damage

BAYDA April 27. 2024 (Saba) - The Emergency Committee in Al Bayda province, headed by Governor Abdullah Idris, discussed the necessary procedures and measures to confront any damage caused by floods and rockslides.

The province’s deputy for administrative units, Abdullah Al-Jamali, reviewed the general guidelines for confronting flood damage, the tasks of the formed committees, as well as solutions and treatments that contribute to improving performance.

The meeting, which included directors of the relevant offices, stressed the importance of preparing a plan in light of previous studies to avoid damage in a number of areas during the current year, in coordination between the offices and concerned authorities.

The meeting approved the plan submitted by the province’s deputy to the administrative units, Abdullah Al-Jamali, regarding the formation of committees and the distribution of tasks, in accordance with what was included in the central plan to confront flood damage, and assigning the concerned offices to determine priorities and develop a plan that contributes to reducing flood damage to agricultural lands and archaeological sites exposed to collapses, maintaining asphalt roads and rainwater drainage.

During the meeting, the Governor of Al-Bayda stressed the necessity of developing solutions and taking the necessary measures to reduce the expected damage resulting from rain and torrential rains, as well as activating the Civil Defense Department to confront disasters in coordination with the concerned authorities.

He stressed the implementation of the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council, to mobilize all efforts and capabilities , take all necessary solutions , treatments to drain rainwater , floods , limit damage and losses to citizens’ property.

He urged the development of plans that keep pace with the current stage in light of the challenges imposed by the aggression and siege, and attention to inspecting dams, addressing any technical problems, and providing their maintenance requirements in all directorates of the province.
