SANA'A, June 04 (Saba) - Minister of Transport Abdulwahab Al-Durra on Saturday confirmed that patients have priority to travel on commercial and civil flights through Sana'a International Airport to receive treatment abroad.

"The humanitarian truce was established in order to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and facilitate the travel of citizens, including patients," Al-Durra said during a meeting included the Higher Medical Committee, the Yemeni Airlines Company and the Civil Aviation Authority.

He pointed to the interest of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council in patients, and the need to facilitate all travel procedures for them.

The Transport Minister urged the relevant authorities on the importance of coordinating, arranging and supervising the travel of patients, especially those suffering from chronic and serious diseases.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Higher Medical Committee, Dr. Mutahar Al-Darwish, reviewed the conditions and suffering of patients as a result of the aggression and siege, and the scarcity of medicines, devices and medical equipment in hospitals.

Dr. Al-Darwish stated that the number of sick cases registered with the committee is 35,000 patients, pointing to the challenges and difficulties facing the committee's work.

The meeting approved the formation of a joint technical committee from the Medical Committee, Yemen Airways and the Civil Aviation Authority, to coordinate and arrange commercial and civil flights and to work on facilitating and simplifying all travel procedures for patients and giving them priority to travel.
