HAJJAH December 11. 2023 (Saba)A team from the Humanitarian Affairs Council in Hajjah province and humanitarian partners reviewed UNICEF’s interventions in Aslam District.
Where the Directors of the Humanitarian Affairs Branch in the province, Allan Fadail, the Directorate of Badawi Crossings, the UNICEF Office in the Hodeida Axis, Abdul Jabbar Dini, and the Humanitarian Policy, Laurent Jalbout, were briefed on the work on Dhahr and Al-Jawhel water projects, which are being rehabilitated into permanent water sources, the implementation of the emergency unit, and UNICEF funding at a cost of 170 thousand dollars.
They listened, along with Regional Emergency Advisor Ségolène Adam, Nutrition Program Officer Walid Al-Madhaji, emergency specialists Jinan Ramadan, Nicholas Wassana, Abu Al-Fadl Massoumi, and Director of the Emergency Unit, Engineer Abdul-Ghani Al-Junaid, from Water and Environmental Sanitation Specialist, Engineer Fouad Abu Ras, to an explanation about the components of the two projects and the number of beneficiaries, numbering three thousand people from Displaced people in Al-Dhahr and Al-Jawhel camps.
The visitors also learned about UNICEF's interventions at the health center in Shuqba camps and displaced persons' gatherings to provide health care services in the immunization, malnutrition, integrative care, and reproductive health departments.
They also reviewed UNICEF's interventions in the project to connect water camps to permanent water sources in Deir Ghaitha in the district, and the project's services that benefit 2,200 families in Al-Mutayhara camp for the displaced and the host community.
Fadeel praised UNICEF's interventions in implementing sustainable projects that address the needs of displaced and affected people in the targeted areas.
