Ministry of Human Rights organizes human rights symposium on international mechanisms to prosecute Zionist entity

SANA'A December 31. 2023 (Saba) - The international human rights symposium was held in Sana'a on Sunday, entitled “International Mechanisms to Prosecute the Zionist Entity and Prevent Impunity,” organized by the Ministry of Human Rights.

At the opening of the symposium, the Minister of Human Rights in the caretaker government, Ali Hussein Al-Dailami, praised the positions of the leader of the revolution, Mr. Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, in standing by the Palestinian people and advocating for their just cause, which changed many calculations at the regional and global levels.

He said, "When the leader of the revolution announced that Yemen stood by the Palestinian people, this was based on my faith and religion, and some thought that the Yemeni people would exit the map as soon as they confronted the American and Zionist enemy, while the leader had precise calculations that he took inspiration from the Holy Qur’an in confronting the enemy, which it requires re-mapping the mind to enhance the Qur’anic culture in people.”

He renewed his strong denunciation of the massacres committed by the Zionist enemy against civilians, children, and women in Gaza. He said, “The Zionist entity is committing massacres in Gaza and the occupied territories that have never occurred in the history of humanity, and yet we find a dulling of feelings, positions, and will.”

Minister Al-Dailami pointed out that the American regime supports the Zionist entity with ammunition and prohibited weapons to kill Palestinians, yet there is a double standard in international standards. He added, “Some do not see the American regime and the crimes it practices, and this is a problem related to the imperial culture that the hegemonic powers wanted to instill in societies, in the minds of the people of the Arab and Islamic nation.”

He touched on the statements of Western countries and their declaration of standing by the Zionist entity, in killing civilians, children and women, destroying civilian objects, extermination and starvation... considering this to be double standards created by Western countries by establishing a special law for civilians, the four Geneva Conventions, the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice, which are tools that serve interests and America agendas and the West.

The Caretaker Minister of Human Rights praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in defending their land, honor, dignity, just cause, and their sacrifices in confronting the Zionist entity.

He praised South Africa's position in expelling the Zionist ambassador, heading to the International Criminal Court to file cases against the Zionist massacres in Gaza, and the statements of the Foreign Minister of Djibouti not to condemn Yemen and that the Zionist entity is targeting the victory of the Palestinian people.

He wondered, "Is the resistance in Palestine one of the international mechanisms to protect children and women, or do we consider it an act of violence, just as the forces of global arrogance, led by America and Western countries, are trying to change concepts and terminology, and demonize it as a terrorist organization?"

He considered the Palestinian resistance one of the most important mechanisms for protecting human and civilian rights in Palestine, and it has the right to defend the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Holy Al-Quds as its capital, and to extend its sovereignty over its entire territory.

Al-Dailami expressed his pride and pride in the positions of the European peoples who rose up and created barriers between them and their rulers... denouncing the international community's negligent position, the absence of its role, its complicity, and its sending of ammunition to the Zionist entity.

He stressed the necessity of an economic boycott of American-Zionist goods and products and the countries and companies that support the usurping entity, urging coordination with local, regional, Arab and international organizations to support the Palestinian people and file lawsuits against the Zionist entity.

For his part, the spokesman for the Southern Revolutionary Movement, Dr. Muhammad al-Numani, stressed the need to activate human rights work in Yemen and file lawsuits against Israel in coordination between the Ministries of Human Rights and Expatriate Affairs and Yemeni communities abroad.

He pointed out that Yemen changed the rules of engagement at the regional and global levels, by imposing sovereignty over the Red and Arabian Seas and Bab al-Mandab, in addition to its positions in support of the Palestinian people, whether by targeting the depths of the usurping entity or preventing the passage of its ships or those heading to the occupied ports.

Dr. Al-Numani stressed the necessity of activating the role of the Yemeni and Arab communities and creating powers of attorney for the families of the victims to file lawsuits against the American-Saudi-Emirati coalition in its aggression against Yemen and the American-Zionist aggression against Gaza and the occupied territories, and to prosecute those involved in it.

During the symposium, two interventions were made by the President of the Paris-based Arab Committee for Human Rights, Dr. Follette Dagher Al-Yemen, in which she praised the Yemeni position on the legal and military aspects in support of the Palestinian people.

She criticized the negligent positions of the United Nations and the Security Council and the failure to take measures to stop the crimes of the Zionist entity in Gaza and the occupied territories, demanding that the leaders of the Zionist entity and those involved in the forces of hegemony and global arrogance that support Israel be tried in committing massacres.

In turn, Dr. Hassan Joli, professor of international law in Lebanon, saluted the position of the Yemeni people in support of the Palestinian people and against the crimes of the Zionist enemy in Gaza.

He stressed that the Yemeni position is advanced and had a great and effective impact in changing the map, pointing out that the Zionist entity has had a dark history since its establishment by committing horrific crimes in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and elsewhere.

Dr. Jolie called for focusing on filing lawsuits against the Zionist entity regarding the previous and current crimes it committed and not escaping trial and punishment... pointing to the necessity of describing the crimes of the American-Zionist aggression against Gaza and the occupied territories.

The symposium’s recommendations stressed the necessity of establishing regional networks for lawyers, activists, and human rights organizations to exchange information and strengthen regional pressure to prosecute the Zionist entity, and work to adopt a decision through the House of Representatives to form an Arab and Islamic committee, with the participation of Yemeni lawyers, jurists, and judges to investigate the violations and crimes committed by the Zionist entity in Palestine.

The recommendations stressed the need to strengthen the accountability of the legal system, provide the necessary support to national courts to prosecute those responsible for Israel’s crimes in Gaza, and strengthen the capabilities to conduct independent and transparent national investigations of those crimes.

The symposium participants recommended implementing a ban on Israeli products and encouraging branches of international companies to withdraw their investments and withdraw from projects that violate international humanitarian law in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The recommendations called for active participation in enhancing global awareness of the Palestinian issue and the violations to which the Palestinian people are exposed through the media, social networks, international forums, and organizing seminars and events to shed light on human rights in Palestine.

The symposium recommendations called for cooperation and communication with organizations, associations and institutions concerned with human rights, international justice and the Palestinian issue, and to provide support for the investigation of the crimes of the usurping entity in Palestine.
