SANA'A April 28. 2024 (Saba) - The Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in the capital secretariat called on citizens not to open the covers of sewage inspection rooms and manholes in the streets and neighborhoods during rain.
The director of the institution, Engineer Muhammad Madaes, explained in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that opening the covers of inspection rooms and manholes causes blockages, destruction of the sewage network, overflow of sewage into the streets, damage to property, in addition to health and environmental risks.
He urged citizens to cooperate with the Corporation and report any open inspection room or blockage to the emergency number "171", to maintain water and sewage network lines and reduce health and environmental risks to the community.
