RAMALLAH April 28. 2024 (Saba) - Palestinian representative to the United Nations Riyad Mansour revealed on Sunday that new countries in the Caribbean and Latin America will soon recognize the state of Palestine.
In an interview with voice of Palestine radio, Mansour pointed out that the state of Trinidad and Tobago will soon recognize the state of Palestine following the recognition of Jamaica and Barbados, adding that he will exchange letters of recognition with those countries to be deposited at the United Nations.
Mansour explained that work is underway with the Bahamas and Panama to recognize the state of Palestine, in response to Washington's obstruction of Palestine's obtaining full membership in the United Nations
He revealed calls for a special session of the UN General Assembly to discuss the US move, which contradicts the entire membership of the UN Security Council, and to request the council to re-vote on it.
