GAZA April 30. 2024 (Saba) -Chief of Gaza government information office on Tuesday warned against repeated explosions of projectiles left by Israeli army, particularly those taking the form of canned items.
Nearly 10 percent of over 75 million tons of shells and bombs thrown by the enemy army has not exploded, according to UN estimates and government reports, Salama Maarouf added in remarks carried by the Palestinian media center.
More than 7 million tons of unexploded projectiles are now in streets, squares, houses and under debris across Gaza Strip, he said, warning of the risks posed by these explosives.
While he urged the civilians to avoid playing with such items and ask civil defense help instead, the official called on the international community to send engineering teams and explosive experts, and to provide local authorities with necessary technical resources.
