SANA'A May 06. 2024 (Saba) The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning predicted thunderstorms of varying intensity in a number of governorates, and hot weather in the coastal plains and desert areas during the next 24 hours.
According to the weather forecast issued by the center, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected in parts of the governorates of Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Al-Dhale, Lahj, Al-Bayda and Abyan.
Scattered rains are likely on parts of the eastern and southern coasts and adjacent interior areas and parts of the governorates of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Amran, Sana'a Al-Mahra, Shabwa, Hadramawt and the Socotra archipelago.
According to the center, the weather may be hot in the coastal plains and desert areas during the day, and temperatures range between 34 - 40 degrees Celsius.
It reported that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours and was measured in some weather stations was as follows: Al-Saddah Ibb: 32.2 mm, Al-Hawban Taiz: 18.5, Baadan Ibb: 15.4, Hajjah: 10.2, Ibb: 7, Amran: 3.8, Seiyun: 2.2, Dhamar: 1.8, Al-Rayyan Airport: 1.5, Lahj and Al-Dhalea 1.1 mm.
Rain of varying intensity outside the range of weather stations fell on the governorates of Aden, Abyan, Al-Bayda and Shabwa.
The center warned citizens of thunderstorms and the flow of torrential rains in reefs and valleys, and of a decrease in horizontal visibility on mountain roads due to rain, fog formation or water mist.
It also warned citizens in desert areas and coastal plains of hot weather during the day.
