SANA'A May 06. 2024 (Saba) - Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization (YSMO) inaugurated on Monday a field descent to central gas stations and car gas pumps in capital Sana'a and Sana'a province.
The organization explained in a statement that during the periodic and sudden field visit to verify the extent of the application of safety standards and compliance with legal calibers in the scales of stations to protect consumers from fraud and manipulation of legal calibers and weights.
The statement pointed out that the descent includes checking the weights of gas cylinders in accordance with the requirements of the standard specifications related to measurement and calibration.
The Director General of the Municipality Branch and Sana'a Governorate, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Dawla, stated that the periodic and sudden field descent will be carried out over a period of 20 days and targets 243 stations, including 486 pump meters, indicating that the teams are verifying and calibrating to protect the consumer from fraud in the amount of gas sold in household cylinders and filling cars.
He urged station owners to abide by the legal calibers and regulations, calling on citizens to report any station or pump that violates the legal calibers, stressing that the necessary measures will be taken against violators.
