New Zealand calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza
WELLINGTON May 07. 2024 (Saba) - New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters on Tuesday called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to avoid further "humanitarian disasters."
“The suffering in Gaza cannot be allowed to increase,” Peters said in a statement on the government’s website on Tuesday.
He stressed the need to reach a truce and prisoner exchange agreement mediated by Egypt and Qatar to avoid more "humanitarian disasters" in Gaza.
The minister explained that the Zionist ground attack on Rafah was "unacceptable."
