BEIRUT May 08. 2024 (Saba) - A military operation in Rafah, if launched by the Zionist army, would not be a picnic for its troops that would incur the same defeat they already suffered in other parts of Gaza, a leader of Hamas said late on Tuesday.
The proposal - handed by Egyptian and Qatari mediators - was the outcome of "long, hard and complicated negotiations" throughout the last months, Osama Hamdan added at a press conference in Beirut, following his Movement's positive reply to the proposal.
The last period saw the introduction of many proposals that did not meet the resistance's conditions or the Palestinian people's expectations, he told reporters, although "Hamas showed flexibility, when needed, but also set red lines that cannot be overlooked or waivered."
