MOSCOW May 09. 2024 (Saba) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that Russian forces are on constant alert and that Moscow will make every effort to prevent a global confrontation.
Putin said in his speech to the military parade in Moscow on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the victory over Nazism, according to Russian news agencies: that his country is currently going through "a pivotal stage, and its fate and two futures depend on all of us."
Putin also stressed that the West seeks to sow discord in regions of the world in order to achieve its ambitions. "Justifying Nazism has become part of the politics of Western elites," he said.
The Russian president warned that his country "will not allow anyone to threaten it". He said its strategic power was "on standby" and urged Western countries to "remember its loss in the world war."
On Tuesday, during his inauguration ceremony, Putin stressed the continued formation of a multipolar world. He stressed the need for Russia to "open new areas for it, as has happened repeatedly throughout history, and to seek self-sufficiency."
