OCCUPIED AL-QUDS May 17. 2024 (Saba) - The authorities of the Zionist enemy decided, today, to close all streets leading to the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and the deployment of hundreds of soldiers throughout Jerusalem, from the end of the Saturday holiday until the last day next Sunday, to erect the big flame this year in the so-called "Tomb of the friend Shimon" in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied al quds.
According to the Zionist enemy media, the so-called home front and the police of the usurping entity in cooperation with the senior rabbis of the religious Jewish community, and after the closure of the so-called tomb of "Shimon Bar Yochai" in Mount Meron in Safed due to the security situation on the northern front, it was decided to erect the big flame this year in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood at the site of the so-called "Tomb of Siddiq Shimon".
All roads leading to Sheikh Jarrah will be closed, hundreds of soldiers will be deployed throughout Jerusalem, and transportation will be secured to attend the ceremony to, from and outside al quds.
The Jewish celebration commemorates the death of Rav-Bar Yochai students in a 12th-century epidemic, and is usually held on Mount Jarmaq, the Arabic name for Mount Meron.
