NEW YORK June 29. 2024 (Saba) - The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) on Saturday warned that "the continued escalation of violence in the West Bank leads to the destruction of vital infrastructure, affecting the safety and well-being of children."
"Children in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and everywhere need peace," the UN organization added in a post on its account on the 'X' platform.
The Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression by land, sea and air on the Gaza Strip since the seventh of last October, resulting in the death of 37,834 civilians.
Inconclusive estimates put more than 20,000 children in Gaza missing, with some 17,000 others orphaned or left unaccompanied.
In the West Bank, including East Al Quds, 553 civilians, including 136 children, have been killed in the same period since October 7.
