OCCUPIED AL-QUDS June 30.2024 (Saba) - The Zionist enemy authorities on Saturday forced a Palestinian citizen to demolish his house in Al-Tur town, east of occupied Quds.
Maqdisian citizen Abdullah Abu Sbitan said the occupation municipality in Quds forced him to demolish his house, which has an area of 85 square meters and houses his family of five members.
He added that he had to demolish his house by himself after the occupation court issued a demolition decision within two days, in order to avoid paying the demolition costs if its crews did so.
It is noteworthy that the occupation authorities force Palestinian citizens, especially in Quds occupied city, to self-demolish their homes under the pretext of not having a license. If anyone refuses this procedure, the occupation bulldozers demolish the house and impose exorbitant costs on the owner.
The occupation municipality in Quds refuses to grant Palestinian citizens building permits, and demolishes or forces them to demolish their homes, in a measure that contravenes international laws, as part of its practices aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians from Quds city, in favor of expanding the settlements in the city and its surroundings.
During last May, Quds Governorate documented (30) demolition and bulldozing operations, including: (9 forced self-demolition operations) and (20 demolition operations carried out by occupation mechanisms).
On Saturday evening, enemy forces also stormed Silwad town, east of Ramallah.
Security sources reported that an occupation army force stormed Silwad town and drove its military vehicles through its streets, without any arrests or confrontations reported.
