DHAMAR July 01. 2024 (Saba) -The Agriculture and Irrigation Office in Dhamar Governorate carried out on Monday a campaign to monitor the shops selling and trading pesticides and agricultural fertilizers in Utmah district, and raise awareness of the correct ways to use them.

The Deputy Director of the Agriculture Office, Eng. Hafez Al-Junaid, explained that the campaign aims to monitor, inspect and raise awareness of methods of safe use, and precautions to be taken when dealing with pesticides.

He pointed out that the campaign includes monitoring the permitted pesticides and fertilizers, and ensuring that shops obtain the necessary licenses to practice work, and the extent to which they apply the conditions and standards of storage and transportation.

He stressed the keenness to enhance the level of awareness of the dangers of the indiscriminate use of pesticides, because of their effects on plants, the environment and humans. He pointed out that the office will continue to field visits and periodic monitoring, to ensure compliance with safety conditions and standards followed in this aspect.
