PYONGYANG July 2. 2024 (Saba) - North Korea on Monday said the country's missile administration carried out a successful test launch of a new type of tactical ballistic missile, the Hwasongfu-11da-4.5, on Monday.
The Korean Central News Agency reported that this type of missile is capable to carry a very large warhead weighing 4.5 tons.
The launch test was conducted with a missile carrying a warhead simulating a heavy warhead, with the aim of verifying the stability of the flight process and the accuracy of the hit at the range of 500 kilometers and the limit minimum range is 90 km.
Testing a weapon system of this new type is part of the regular activities of the country's missile administration and its defense science institutes, the agency added.
North Korea announced last June that it had successfully tested separation and control by directing individual mobile warheads, which is of great importance in achieving the goal of rapidly developing missile technologies.
