GAZA July 02. 2024 (Saba) -The Palestinian Center to Protect Journalists (CPJ) stressed the need to stop the continuous targeting of journalists in the Gaza Strip and to ensure that the injured and in need of medical treatment and rehabilitation are able to leave the Gaza Strip to receive it and ensure their right to return.
The Palestinian Information Center reported that the Palestinian Journalists Protection Center mourned on Tuesday the journalist Mohammed Mahmoud Abu Sharia, who died of serious head injuries in a Zionist raid on the Gaza Strip a few days ago.
CPJ stressed that the practices of the Zionist enemy in targeting journalists, preventing their movement and depriving them of their right to treatment and receiving appropriate health care is a continuation of its continuous aggression against Palestinian media institutions.
It added: The bombing, destruction, killing and arrest of journalists is an attempt to silence the voice of truth, at a time when the Zionist enemy continues to prevent foreign press missions from entering Gaza since the beginning of the war.
CPJ called for mobilizing international efforts aimed at amplifying the voice of Palestinian journalists and ensuring rapid action to stand by them in light of the escalation of targeting them, destroying their workplaces and depriving them of the equipment necessary to continue media coverage.
