MOSCOW July 22. 2024 (Saba) - The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Monday that it shot down 75 drones launched by Kiev forces on the southwestern provinces of the country, and over the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
The Russian Defense Ministry statement said: "Last night, our defenses shot down 47 Ukrainian drones over Rostov Oblast, one over Belgorod Oblast, one over Voronezh Oblast, one over Smolensk Oblast, eight over Krasnodar Territory, and 17 over the Black and Azov Seas."
For its part, local authorities in the Krasnodar Territory announced damage to the infrastructure of the oil refinery in the vicinity of the city of Tuapse in Kuban, as a result of the falling debris of the drones at the moment the Russian defenses confronted them, which caused a fire to break out over an area of 50 square meters, which was extinguished without any casualties.
Kiev forces continue to target the border areas in southwestern Russia with drones and missiles on an almost daily basis, which confirms, according to what President Vladimir Putin announced, the necessity of expanding the scope of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, and removing Kiev forces from the Russian regions within the range of the missiles with which they are trying to strike Russia.
