SANA'A August 31. 2024 (Saba) - Shaab Hadramawt came close to winning the title of the Yemeni Super Cup Basketball Championship (men's category) after they were alone at the top of the championship standings after their precious victory over the Sana'a Wahdah team with a score of 52 / 48, in the match that took place between them today at the closed hall in Seiyun city, Hadramawt Province.

The match witnessed a strong and enthusiastic performance between the two teams and distinctive technical intervals from their players amid a public presence to follow the championship, which is organized by the Yemen General Basketball Federation with the participation of the top four teams in the classification league last season.

With this result, Shaab Hadramawt are close to clinching the championship title after they moved to the top of the standings with four points, while Sana'a Wahdah, the champions of the qualifying league, reached three points in second place.

In the second match, which witnessed a convergence of levels between the two poles of Yemeni basketball, Al Ahli Sana'a and Al Talal, Al Talal was able to compensate for its loss yesterday and achieve a difficult victory today with a score of 73/36.

The two matches were attended by the President of the Yemeni General Basketball Federation, Captain Abdul Sattar Al-Hamdani, Vice President of the Game Federation, Captain Anwar Abdul Daim, President of Shaab Hadramawt Club, Engineer Saleh Al-Omari, Tournament Director Captain Mohammed Awad Kharaz, and a number of members of the General Basketball Federation and the administrative bodies of the participating clubs.

The Super Cup competition will conclude tomorrow, Sunday, with the last two matches, the first of which will see the leaders Shaab Hadramawt play Ahli Sana'a, while the second match will see the teams of Sana'a Wahdah and Al-Tallal face off.
