DHAMAR - SABA: Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Dr. Radhwan al-Rubai and Dhamar governor Mohammed al-Bukhaiti inaugurated on Monday 82 agricultural projects across the governorate with a total investment of 1 billion and 274 million Y.R, funded by local authorities.

The projects were launched to commemorate the September, October, and November revolution holidays, as well as the Prophet's birthday.

Implemented between 1445 and 1446 AH by the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, these initiatives include the production and distribution of over 5.5 million seedlings of various crops, such as grapes, jujube, and coffee.

Key components of the initiative encompass:

- Development of agricultural irrigation systems.
- Rehabilitation of Ma'abar complex as a veterinary hospital.
- Provision of loans to agricultural cooperatives.
- Support for community projects aimed at rehabilitating water barriers and tanks.
- Initiatives for sheep fattening and enhancing food processing industries.
- Training programs on safe use of fertilizers and agricultural practices.

During the inauguration, Minister al-Rubai praised the Executive Unit for Managing Project Financing and the agricultural sector for their efforts in executing these vital projects.

He described the projects as a testament to the spirit of the September 21 Revolution, reflecting community resilience and determination in overcoming challenges.

Al-Rubai highlighted that these initiatives were completed at lower costs through community contributions, contrasting previous expenditures that lacked accountability.

He emphasized the government's commitment to achieving self-sufficiency and advancing the agricultural sector.

Governor al-Bukhaiti reiterated the importance of fostering agricultural development in the region, supporting projects that enhance agricultural production, and addressing the country's food security needs.

The Minister and governor also received insights from Dr. Adel Omar, Director of the Executive Unit, regarding the diverse range of projects that focus on institutional development, pest control, and agricultural services, alongside community-supported water and land resource initiatives.
