New York - Saba :
The New York Times declared that Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's stated goal of destroying Hamas is still unattainable, even with the destruction of Gaza Strip.
The newspaper said today, Tuesday: The October 7 operation "shattered Zionists' confidence in Israel," and the year of war that followed deepened internal divisions.
It emphasized that "many Zionists want answers as to why the government was so absent, a collapse that shattered the common belief that it would always be there to protect them."
"Zionists across Israel say they feel abandoned by their government," it said.
"Many Zionists, though deeply divided along ideological, ethnic, religious and secular lines a year after the war, largely agree on one thing: Their lack of trust in Israel's political leaders.
"There are concerns about the quiet brain drain," it acknowledged. "Emigration tripled in 2023 compared to 2021, and a smaller percentage of Zionist travelers returned last year.
