Kazan-Russia-Saba:
Chinese President Xi Jinping has advocated for a comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and for measures to prevent the conflict from extending to Lebanon.

"We must work for a ceasefire in Gaza, stop the suffering of civilians there and in Lebanon, and revive the two-state solution plan to end the war," Jinping said in his speech at the plenary session of the "Friends of BRICS" meeting in Kazan today, pointing to the importance of protecting the world and strengthening cooperation in the field of security to resolve the situation in hotspots.

In another context, the Chinese president stressed the need to calm the situation in Ukraine as soon as possible and pave the way for a political settlement that contributes to resolving the crisis.

Jinping considered the mass rise of the Global South as a clear sign of the great changes in the world, noting that this rise is a great event in world history and an unprecedented achievement in the march of human civilization, as the countries of the Global South are moving towards modernization jointly.

He added that the BRICS countries should be a stabilizing force to maintain peace, manage global security, solve pressing global issues, unite their efforts, defend the crystallization of the common system, and defend peace and peace for development, stressing that the BRICS path is compatible with radical changes in history.

The Chinese president called on BRICS members to play a guiding role in reforming the global economic governance system, promote dialogue and support each other in choosing the path of modernization.
