Sana'a - Ibb:
The Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control is actively conducting field visits to gold and silver jewelry shops and goldsmith workshops across various provinces, including Ibb.
This initiative aims to protect consumers from fraud and ensure compliance with legal carats and weights in the sale of gold jewelry.
Currently, a control campaign is underway in Ibb, focusing on verifying the use of calibrated scales and ensuring that jewelry matches its advertised specifications.
The campaign will extend to the city of Ibb and nearby districts, such as Dhi As-Sufal and Yarim. The authority plans to take samples for examination and to place calibration stickers on electronic scales used in sales.
Eng. Ibrahim al-Ashwal, the Director of the Authority's Ibb branch, emphasized the importance of adhering to the regulations and cooperating with field teams.
Consumers are encouraged to report any discrepancies or fraudulent practices via the authority's toll-free hotline.
This effort underscores the authority's commitment to enhancing oversight of precious metals and ensuring that goldsmith workshops comply with legal standards.
