Al-Wahda district in the Capital Sana'a held on Wednesday the closing event for the annual anniversary of the martyr 1446 AH, under the slogan "The culture of martyrdom is the culture of survival."
In the event, Vice Chairman of the Shura Council Dhaifullah Rassam indicated that celebrating this occasion is a renewal of the covenant and loyalty to these martyrs, and an affirmation of the nation's connection to them, and its keenness to remember their heroism and sacrifices, and instill them in the conscience of generations, calling for attention to mobilization and support of the fronts, and following in the footsteps of the martyrs.
Sheikh Jabri Ibrahim delivered a speech on behalf of the families and relatives of the martyrs, during which he expressed the pride of the sons and families of the martyrs, and their appreciation for the sacrifices of their relatives, which will remain a badge of honor, pride and loftiness.
He stressed their readiness to sacrifice the most precious and valuable for the sake of the homeland, and to support the issues and sanctities of the nation.
He said: "No matter how much we praise the families of the martyrs and their families, we have not and will not be able to give them their due right to the honor that befits them, and expresses recognition of their value and role in sacrificing and giving the most precious thing they have, which is the martyrs."
He pointed out the extent of the sacrifices made by the martyrs in the face of the forces of aggression and arrogance, indicating that the memory of the martyr is dear to the hearts, and deserves to be given importance that rises to the enormity of the sacrifices.
For his part, district director Sami Hamid appreciated the great sacrifices made by the martyrs to defend the homeland, land and people, as well as the steadfastness and stability of their families, their honorable positions, and their provision of convoys of money and men, urging attention and care for the children and families of the martyrs as the least duty that can be provided to them.
He stressed that the positions of pride and honor, embodied by the great martyrs and loyal fighters, with their sacrifices and heroism while performing their religious and national duty, will remain before the eyes of all Yemenis, from which they draw strength, determination and insistence to continue the jihad and sacrifice until victory is achieved.
He renewed the pledge and loyalty to the blood of the martyrs, and to follow in their path in confronting the forces of aggression and enemies, and to support the sons and issues of the nation and its sanctities.
He pointed out that the martyrs are the beacon that illuminates the path of successive generations, and learns from them the values of giving, heroism and sacrifice for the sake of the homeland.
Cultural activist, Abu Zaid al-Dhaheri stressed the importance of this occasion for what it carries of religious, moral and humanitarian meanings; honoring the great martyrs who made their souls a platform for victory and a model of martyrdom for the sake of God, and defending the homeland.
He pointed out that what Yemen enjoys in terms of security, stability, freedom and dignity comes thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs, from whom the nation derives awareness, insight, steadfastness and perseverance in facing the challenges and dangers facing the nation.
He urged to recall the lessons of the martyr’s memory, the sacrifices of the martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of God, and to liberate themselves from the forces of tyranny and arrogance, and to follow their heroic deeds and their giving in confronting the tyrants of global arrogance.
