The idea of creating a unified currency for BRICS states has been raised by one of the members, chairman of the Reserve Bank of India said on Friday, but no decision has been taken so far in this regard.
The geographical position of the BRICS member states should be considered when the issue is discussed, Shakticanta Das added, citing the euro region that has geographic extension, according to TASS.
When it comes to India, the Bank has taken no step to cancel the dollarization, he said, as his country only entered in a treaty with few countries to trade in local currency.
