The Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, Dr. Ali Saif Mohammed, along with his deputy, Adel Saleh Badir, provided an update today on the progress of cleaning the exit channel of the sewage treatment plant, specifically the conveyor line used for flood waste.
They listened as Eng. Mohamed Mada'ys, the Director General of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in the Capital Sana'a, explained the ongoing cleaning process for the sewage channel and conveyor line, particularly those near the wells in the area.
During the visit, the Minister of Electricity and Water and his deputy stressed the ministry's keenness to clean the treatment plant's outlet channel to prevent sewage from leaking into wells located in the area, in a way that contributes to providing clean water to citizens.
They pointed out that the teams in charge of cleaning the canal will continue their work and field visits to conduct the cleaning process and ensure that there are no leaks, especially in the areas adjacent to the sewage treatment plant to avoid any damage that leads to the spread of diseases and epidemics.
The Minister of Electricity and his deputy stressed the need to complete the cleaning work before the rainy season.
