Ibb - Saba:
A closing event was held on Wednesday in Ibb province for livelihood activities and quick-impact projects, organized by the Yemen Women's Union branch in the province, funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) within the framework of the project to provide protection services to displaced persons and the poorest families.
The event included the distribution of empowerment bags to 49 male and female beneficiaries in 12 vocational and professional fields, in addition to an open bazaar to display products for two days.
Deputy Governor Harith Al-Maliki emphasized the interest of the local authority leadership and its support for efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of IDPs and poor families, especially in light of the current situation.
Iman Al-Hamzi, Director of Programs at the Union's branch, discussed the in-kind assistance provided by the project to the beneficiaries in the fields of electricity, decoration, plumbing, welding, sewing, graphics, pastries and confectionery, in addition to providing motorcycles.
The project manager of the project to provide protection services to displaced families in the province, Walid Al-Hajaji, pointed out that the project included the implementation of five quick-impact projects for institutional support and economic empowerment, the distribution of first aid kits, the implementation of 99 awareness activities in local communities, in addition to providing 721 legal consultations and issuing 427 personal cards to beneficiary cases in the districts of Al-Dahar, Al-Mashna, Al-Adin, Al-Qafar, Yarim and Al-Syani.
