The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement sent on Saturday evening, a message to the Palestinians regarding the practices of the Authority's security services in Jenin.
In a statement, PIJ said:" Based on the firm positions and principles on which the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine was founded and committed to throughout its march, which all witnesses can attest that it has never deviated from them, and in light of the unjust campaign that targets our movement, its cadres and symbols, in order to provoke it and drag it into the vortex of unacceptable infighting.
It added: "Based on our deep concern to refer to the will of the Palestinians, as the owner of legitimacy and the final decision, we put before the Palestinian public opinion the following facts: Since the launch of the security campaign carried out by the PA security services in Jenin camp, our movement has been subjected to a systematic media campaign aimed at distorting its march, questioning its national affiliation, denying its honorable history and sacrifices. This campaign has reached the level of personal attacks on the movement's leaders and symbols.
It continued:" For weeks, our brothers and sons in the Jenin Battalion have been subjected to a fierce campaign of arrests, chases and shootings, amid a media and security siege aimed at undermining their resolve. These practices aim to push us into internal clashes, something that only serves the Zionist occupation, which incites sedition, aiming to portray our Palestinians as being in a state of infighting, to pass its narrative and justify its crimes against Gaza before the world, and from the first moment, we initiated numerous initiatives and mediations aimed at sparing our people the scourge of sedition and bloodshed. Despite our concern for wisdom, all these initiatives were thwarted, and the doors were closed to all peaceful solutions.
Events took a dangerous turn with the escalation of the repression and abuse campaigns practiced by the authorities against citizens who express their opinions rejecting the sedition. These practices, which aim to silence voices calling for wisdom and reason, constitute a blatant violation of freedom of expression and contradict the sanctity of Palestinian blood."
It called on our brothers in the Fatah movement, with whom we share the path of struggle and resistance, to intervene urgently to stop the voices that offend their honorable history of struggle and redirect the compass towards our national unity, calling on dignitaries and national leaders, from various political and social currents, to play their role in protecting Palestinian blood and working to find a way out that preserves the unity of our people.
It added:" As we address our people, we renew our firm commitment to preserve our national unity and our categorical rejection of all forms of strife that only serve the occupation," it added, stressing that the Islamic Jihad Movement, which presented its best leaders and sons in fulfillment of its approach to jihad and resistance, emphasizes its commitment to its weapons, approach and resistance until the liberation of all of Palestine.
