Occupied Quds - Saba:
Israeli authorities on Sunday discussed the establishment of a Jewish religious school in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in the city of Quds.
The Quds District Planning and Building Committee's sub-committee on objections met and discussed the project of establishing a Jewish school and housing for its students in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
The Ir Amim Association said that this plan is considered a blatant violation of planning and social logic, and is part of the attempts to settle and seize the Palestinian neighborhood, which also include efforts to expel dozens of Palestinian families from their homes.
The Zionist enemy authorities confiscated the plot of land, which is approximately four dunams in area, in the eighties of the last century, under the pretext that it is absentee property, and recently turned it into a public parking lot in the neighborhood.
The Ir Amim Association said that the project conflicts with the master plan that allocates the land to serve the residents.
The association explained that four years ago, it was able to obstruct the plan after proving that it conflicts with the master plan for the neighborhood, which stipulates allocating the land on which the school is proposed to be built for uses that serve the public interest of the residents of the neighborhood.
The association pointed out that the Supreme Court demanded a plan to provide schools in East Quds, but the occupation municipality is exploiting public lands to build settlement projects instead of meeting the needs of the population.
