The government media office in Gaza Strip warned of the danger that threatens the lives of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and the medical staff after they were arrested by the Zionist enemy forces...Calling on the international community , international organizations to reveal his , their fate and release them without delay.
In a statement on Sunday evening, the media office expressed its deep concern about what is happening to Dr. Abu Safiya, who provided an honorable example of dedication , sincerity in performing his medical and humanitarian duty, despite the harsh conditions and imminent dangers, in light of the catastrophic humanitarian conditions that the Palestinians live in Gaza Strip in general, especially in the northern Gaza Strip, and the Zionist enemy's blatant violations of international humanitarian law.
The government office said: Dr. Abu Safiya, along with his colleagues in the health system, bore the burden of defending the right of the sick and injured to receive treatment , medical care, and remained steadfast in the field of work despite Abu Safiya's severe injury and the loss of his son Ibrahim, who was a witness to the sacrifices of this steadfast family.
The office explained that the reports that Dr. Abu Safiya was subjected to grave violations , psychological and physical pressure after his arrest, including forcing him to take off his clothes and medical "kut" and using him as a human shield, constitute a flagrant violation of all human values , international conventions, and call for immediate and serious action from all concerned parties, especially the international community and international humanitarian, legal and human rights organizations.
It also called on the international community, human rights , humanitarian organizations, and the International Red Cross to intervene urgently and immediately to reveal the fate of Dr. Abu Safiya and medical staff in particular, ensure his release without any delay, and ensure the necessary protection for him , all prisoners and detainees who are subjected to inhumane practices, especially medical staff and staff providing civilian services.
