Hodeida - Saba:

A meeting was held in Hodeida province on Monday, chaired by Governor Abdullah Atifi, to discuss plans for reviving the Rajab Friday events, which commemorate the anniversary of Yemenis' conversion to Islam.

The meeting included key figures such as Hodeida undersecretary Ahmed al-Bishri and Hodeida undersecretary for Services Affairs Mohammed Halisi. The discussions focused on the significance of Rajab Friday, an occasion celebrated annually by the people of Yemen to express pride in their conversion to Islam and to recall the Prophet Muhammad’s words about the Yemeni people.

Governor Atifi emphasized the importance of raising community awareness about this occasion, which is deeply rooted in Yemen's faith identity. He noted that the event serves as a reminder of Yemen’s historic role in supporting the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and spreading Islam. He urged the involvement of executive offices to revitalize the occasion and highlight the historical importance of Yemen’s conversion to Islam.

The governor also highlighted the symbolic timing of Rajab Friday, which coincides with the Zionist aggression on Gaza. He stressed Yemen’s strong and unwavering support for the Palestinian people, viewing this as a reflection of Yemen’s religious identity and commitment to the issues of the Islamic nation. Governor Atifi reaffirmed the continued support of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council for the Palestinian cause and all just causes of the nation.

Al-Bishri further emphasized the significance of Rajab Friday, describing it as a badge of honor for Yemenis who were among the first to respond to the call of Islam. He also pointed out Yemen’s historical role in spreading the message of Islam from the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Halisi highlighted the special relationship between Yemen and the Prophet Muhammad, noting that Yemenis are considered the "best soldiers on earth" for their early embrace of Islam. He underlined that the celebration of Rajab Friday affirms Yemen’s continued devotion to the teachings of the Prophet, as they remain steadfast in their faith and commitment to Islam.

The meeting concluded with a call to honor the memory of Rajab Friday, reinforcing Yemen's deep-rooted Islamic identity and its continued dedication to the causes of Islam and the Muslim world.
