Hebron - Saba:
The arrest of students from Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron by the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces confirms the PA's unpatriotic and irresponsible behavior through which it seeks to divide the Palestinian ranks and consolidate the policy of repression it uses against the people of the West Bank, a leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement said on Monday.
"University students in the West Bank have always been and still are the spearhead of the Palestinian struggle, and their national orientation must be strengthened instead of arresting them, pursuing them and throwing them into the PA prisons," Mahmoud Mardawi added in a press statement carried by the Palestinian Information Center.
Mardawi stated that storming the student housing and abusing them, in conjunction with what is happening in the Jenin camp of siege and killing, indicates that the PA security forces have made a decision to confront the Palestinian people in the West Bank.
The Hamas official stressed the need for the West Bank's activities, factions and living forces to take a serious position towards what the PA and its security forces are committing.
He pointed out that pursuing the resistance and besieging the resistance fighters in Jenin camp, killing citizens and persecuting them for their political positions, only serves the occupation that threatens to annex the West Bank and continues the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip.
