The Palestinian Journalists Protection Center (PJPC) announced on Saturday that the Zionist enemy opens the new year by killing a Palestinian journalist every 24 hours in Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the center condemned the killing of the young photographer Areej Shaheen, in an Israeli shell on the Nuseirat camp in the Gaza Strip center.
It added that the failure of the international community to protect journalists weakens its credibility and undermines its efforts to promote human rights and international efforts to support these principles.
The center explained that these crimes come in light of a suspicious international silence and absolute American support for the Israeli occupation government, which encourages it to commit more crimes against Palestinian civilians, including journalists.
It renewed the call on the international community to take immediate action to stop these grave violations and bring the perpetrators to justice.
It called on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to investigate and prosecute the perpetrators of these crimes.
