Tehran - Saba:

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman rejected the recent allegations made by the French President regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran, which he dismissed as baseless, contradictory, and merely an attempt to evade responsibility.

In a statement carried by Tasnim International News Agency, Esmail Baqaei called on France to reconsider its unconstructive positions that do not serve peace and stability in the West Asia region.

The actual and direct threat to regional security and stability is the occupying Zionist entity, which, with comprehensive support from America and some European countries, including France, is not content with continuing its occupation and crimes against humanity and genocide in Palestine, but is also constantly expanding its aggression and military aspirations in various countries of the region, he added.

It is very unfortunate that the French president is pointing the finger at a country that always calls for peace and respect for international law, while turning a blind eye to the crimes of a racist settler entity whose leaders are being pursued internationally on charges of genocide, he argued.

The Iranian spokesman rejected the French president's allegations regarding the Iranian nuclear program, stressing that Iran's peaceful nuclear activities are carried out within the framework of international laws and under strict and sustainable supervision by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

"Raising allegations contrary to reality by a country that has refrained from fulfilling its obligations under the nuclear agreement and played a major role in enabling an entity that practices genocide to possess nuclear weapons and tools for mass killing, is clearly an attempt to evade responsibility and mislead," he added.

Baghaei recalled the firm and principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the necessity of a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine, and rejected the repeated allegations about Iran's interference in this conflict. He said these irresponsible statements represent a clear attempt to distort the facts and hide the destructive role played by the main parties causing crises worldwide.

Baghaei expressed his surprise at the French President's criticism of relations between Iran and African countries, saying: Countries that have a history of colonizing Africa and exploiting its people in a brutal manner have no right to impose their vision or dictate their terms to independent African countries and other peoples.

He stated that the relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran with African countries are based on mutual respect and commitment to preserving the national sovereignty and political independence of each African country. These relations are based on "the principles of international law on friendly relations and cooperation among states in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations", and aim to achieve common interests.
