Sana'a - Sana'a:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued on Thursday a statement outlining the constants and positions of the Republic of Yemen, which were reaffirmed to the UN envoy during his visit to the capital, Sana'a.

The following is the text of the statement:

Following the conclusion of the visit of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to the capital, Sana'a, during the period January 6-9, 2025, during which intensive discussions were held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jamal Amer, on the peace process, the challenges facing its progress, in addition to developments in related issues at the regional and global levels.

During the meetings, a number of positions were emphasized, which represent constants of the policy of the Republic of Yemen in this regard:

1. Considering peace a strategic option emphasized by the true Islamic religion, but it will not be so if it is considered a mere attempt by the aggressor party to escape the consequences of the crimes it committed against the Yemeni people, and to transfer the war to the Yemeni interior.

Accordingly, support for the peace efforts led by the United Nations and the good offices of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen was emphasized.

2. Considering the road map, which was agreed upon between Sana'a and Riyadh, and was officially announced by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, on December 23, 2023, the first serious step towards reaching peace, and accordingly the Yemeni government announced its readiness to sign it, and to begin implementing the first phase of the map, while - under American dictates - Riyadh backed down from proceeding with it.

3. Condemning the continuous pressure exerted by the US administration on the United Nations and supporters of drying up humanitarian aid, and using it as a punishment for the Yemeni people who support the Palestinian people in Gaza, who reject the genocide they are being subjected to.

4. Emphasizing the rejection of the US endeavor, to which Riyadh has submitted, to link the peace process in Yemen and the tension in the Red Sea, considering them two separate issues, and that insisting on linking the two issues represents clear support for the Zionist crimes in Gaza.

5. Emphasizing that ending the tension in the Red Sea will not be a reality except according to the logical and just equation proposed by the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, which is: stopping the war crimes and genocide committed by the Zionist entity in the Gaza Strip, in exchange for stopping the tension in the Red Sea, which is the only equation that can be implemented, and is less costly than escalation and military mobilization in the Red Sea.

6. Warning the Saudi and Emirati regimes against their continued submission to America and the Zionist entity by making their capitals arenas for manufacturing conspiracies, and threatening the safety and stability of Yemen by preparing to ignite a proxy war through their local agents, which will force the Yemeni leadership to use everything available to defend Yemen and its great people, a right guaranteed by all heavenly laws and international laws.

7. Sana'a considers Riyadh's attempt to increase the suffering of Yemeni citizens through the agent government in Aden by taking unilateral measures regarding the transactions of citizens in the free provinces from foreign domination an integral part of what is being prepared for an international war under the Yemeni banner.

8. Reiterating that the presence of non-Yemeni forces in a number of Yemeni governorates and islands represents a full-fledged occupation that cannot be accepted, but rather resisted by all possible means.

9. Sana'a's condemnation of the threat of the terrorist and war criminal Netanyahu to target all Yemeni infrastructure, which represents a disregard for all international laws criminalizing such violations, and calling on the Security Council to declare a clear position in criminalizing these statements, as well as the terrorist attacks carried out by the Zionist entity targeting civilian facilities; such as power stations, the port of Hodeida, and Sana'a airport, where the Director-General of the World Health Organization almost died while leaving Sana'a, which is additional evidence of the barbarism of the Israeli enemy, and its disregard for any legal or moral obligations, which requires the Security Council to assume its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security.

10. Regarding the exchange of prisoners, Sana'a's readiness - through the National Committee for the Exchange of Prisoners - to conduct the exchange according to the "all for all" rule, and in accordance with the signed agreements was renewed; considering that this is a humanitarian issue that should not be exploited for political purposes, as is the case with the other party, and calling on the Office of the Special Envoy to announce the obstruction to the exchange process.

11. Calling on the United Nations to fulfill the previous promises that were agreed upon regarding opening new travel destinations from Sana'a Airport.

12. Appreciating the positions of the countries that expressed their denunciation and condemnation of the Zionist crimes against civilians and their starvation in Gaza, and appreciating the position of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in this regard.
