Washington - Saba:
US President Donald Trump suspended the electronic application (CPB One) dating back to the term of former President Joe Biden, which allowed about a million refugees to enter the United States legally.
According to a notice published by the US Customs and Border Protection website, after Trump took the constitutional oath, users of the site were informed that the application that was used to allow asylum seekers to make appointments at eight southwestern border crossings was no longer available.
The notice stated that the current appointments were canceled, which is considered the implementation of a promise made by Trump during his election campaign.
It is noteworthy that the "CPB One" application has achieved great fame, and it is an electronic "lottery" that allows appointments to be made for 1,450 people wishing to enter the United States through eight border crossings.
These people enter US territory under "conditional release" for immigration, a presidential authority that Joe Biden has used more than any other president since its implementation in 1952.
