Colombian President Gustavo Petro confirmed today, Sunday, the ban on entry of US military aircraft carrying deported migrants from the United States, noting that he "will only accept civilian flights that treat migrants properly."
Petro said via the /X/ platform that the migrant is not a criminal and must be treated properly as a human being deserves, adding, "This is why I returned US military aircraft transporting Colombian migrants."
He explained that he would receive migrants on civilian aircraft, and they would not be treated as criminals, adding that the government in Washington must establish a protocol that treats migrants with dignity.
US President Donald Trump had pledged during his election campaign to launch a broad campaign to expel illegal immigrants, stressing during his second presidential term to implement his promises.
