The Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Movement, Mustafa Barghouti, confirmed that the people of Gaza thwarted the most dangerous conspiracy they were exposed to in terms of displacement and ethnic cleansing.
Barghouti said in a press statement reported by the Palestinian Information Center: The return of the people of the Strip today to their towns in the northern part of the Strip heralds the return to historical Palestine and gives hope to the Palestinian refugees who were displaced in 1948.
Barghouti saluted the people of Gaza, especially in the northern part of the Strip, who have stood firm and confronted the Zionist war machine for many months.
He described the people of the Strip as the Palestinian phoenix that is not destroyed by killing and bombing, and rises from destruction, and that the scenes reflect the reality of the Palestinian people.
He added: The Palestinian people are returning today to set up their tents because they know that the land and the future are theirs.. calling on the Palestinian leadership to rise to the greatness of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
He also stressed that everyone is required to put their weight behind the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and unity to nullify the endless attempts of Israel and the US to displace the Palestinians.
He pointed out that this return heralds the great return to historical Palestine and the ability of the Palestinian people to achieve their national goals.
Barghouthi pointed out that those who have endured under 87 thousand tons of explosives, despite the pain and loss, can achieve all the hopes of the Palestinian people and confuse the occupation that has failed to achieve its four declared goals.
