On Tuesday, the Gaza Sheikhs, Mukhtars and Dignitaries Association declared clearly and firmly their absolute and categorical rejection of any plan or scheme aimed at displacing the residents of Gaza Strip from their land and homeland.
In a press statement, the group strongly rejected what is known as the Trump plan or any other plans that affect our fabric or undermine our historical rights. It said: "Gaza Strip is an authentic part of the Palestinian land and its people are the holders of the legitimate right to this land and we will not accept any solutions imposed on us by force."
The statement added: "We will not allow anyone to impose a new reality on us that contradicts our legitimate rights, whatever the cost of sacrifices."
It sent a message to all those who seek to displace the people of Gaza. "We will stay here and continue the struggle for our freedom and dignity: "We will not allow anyone to impose a new reality on us that aims to obliterate our identity and existence."
US President Donald Trump reiterated his plan for US control of Gaza and the deportation of Palestinians, saying: He is "committed to buying and owning Gaza" and making sure that Hamas does not return.
